The past few weeks have been intense. A family I have been supporting as an Occupational Therapist and coach over the past 5 years, has been tragically robbed of their husband and father as a result of depression. This experience is sitting with me, constantly reminding me to focus on the things that really matter. In my latest blog I share how to shift our experience of pain to something that really matters in the now.
You’re probably familiar with the term ‘Feed a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a life time’. Sometimes life gets really tough, people need help and they just need to be given the fish. I recently volunteered in the Magic Moments Foundation Youth Leadership and Business Summit camp to empower and build tomorrow’s leaders.
During a recent swimming training session, I had the opportunity to focus my coaching practices inward. I became an observer of my thoughts, listening to my silent words as I watched myself decide that it was time to achieve my goal and master tumble turns!
